My journey began in the historic city of Harar, Ethiopia, surrounded by a rich culture and deep heritage. Those early years shaped a lasting passion for design and for building spaces that inspire. I studied Electrical Engineering at Adama University, but my real calling was always in construction and craft.
I sharpened that craft on large projects in Addis Ababa, then spent several formative years in Dubai's construction and renovation industry — where precision, quality, and client trust became non-negotiable. In 2008 I brought all of it to Canada.

As a certified Master Builder, I've spent years crafting bespoke, contemporary homes across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, and I own KH Cabinets, a custom cabinetry shop known for its detail. My entrepreneurial work reaches back to Ethiopia through Legacy — a family of ventures in housing, dairy, and sustainable materials.
Every project — a home, a farm, an industrial venture — comes from the same belief: spaces should not only look beautiful, they should elevate the people who use them, and stand the test of time.
Under the Legacy name, I'm investing in the things Ethiopia needs most — food security, modern housing, and materials made at home instead of imported. Innovation, sustainability, and growth, from the ground up.
An integrated dairy operation 40 km from Addis Ababa — crop production for feed, feed manufacturing, dairy farming, and a modern milk-processing plant on one site. Built in partnership with Semex, a Canadian leader in dairy genetics.
24-storey mixed-use twin towers beside Bethel Referral Hospital — the first high-rise in Ethiopia to use cold-form steel construction, a methodology brought from North America.
Basalt rock dust rebuilds tired soil, boosts yields, and pulls carbon from the air — a natural alternative to the chemical fertilizers that have degraded 16 million hectares of Ethiopian farmland. A utility patent is underway.
Ethiopia's mountains are 60–70% basalt. Produced locally, basalt fibre becomes a clean, durable substitute for imported rebar and pipe — "the green industry material of the 21st century." Patent underway.
